Grants
Summary of Grant Awards
December 2006  MS Word   PDF
Each year written grants are submitted by teachers and schools during a designated grant application period.  In order to be approved the grants have to meet educational needs or create opportunities for enrichment that cannot be met through the school budget.  Preference has been given in the past to smaller ($200-$5000 range) grants so as to have a wider effect.  SEF board members review the grant applications, prioritize them, make funding decisions, and then oversee the distributions.  The grant applications are fairly simple to complete.  See below for a list of previous grants.

Grant Criteria

  1. Projects that enhance the instructional programs of the school and also benefit the most students.
  2. Funding is not available through other sources (School Board, Site Council, etc.).
  3. Money must be spent within the year authorized.
  4. Grantee agrees to submit an evaluation of the project.
  5. All items purchased become the property of the school district.
  6. Equal distribution of funds among the three schools is preferred.
